Although we would prefer that you leaving the window cleaning to the professionals, "If you don't do windows, fear not: there's a robot for you." Presenting the Winbot 730 from Ecovacs, a robotic window cleaner. Sticker price: $400. Yikes!

Inspiring and moving story of Carmine Mainella, a 75 year old Italian "Arrotino" (a sharpener of knives, scissors, meat-slicing blades and sundry metal items that have lost their edge). Sadly, this is a dying profession due to high-rents, gradual modernization and a moving away from manual trades, seen as “labor intensive and dirty”. Without a doubt, Mr. Mainella is a prime example of "perseverance" and an inspiration to small business owners.

In August we posted an inspiring New York Times video on Brent Weingard, a high-rise window cleaner in New York City. In this video, the New York Times gives us a behind-the-scenes look of how videojournalist David Frank decided to capture the action—by literally suspending himself off the building alongside Mr. Weingard.

According to the NYTimes, "The Op-Doc 'Paraíso' (Paradise) reveals the beauty and danger of three immigrant window cleaners' work on Chicago's skyscrapers." This is a quiet, poignantly poetic and heartfelt Op-Doc by Nadav Kurtz. Although it is only 10-minutes long, it is successfully thought provoking, emotionally engaging and a beautifully shot film.

According to a review on Wired.com: "High cost. Poor design with a too-short cord. Ultimately just as time-consuming as applying a little elbow grease." In the end, we will let you decide for yourself.
